Wicks by Werby is a small business that was born mid-pandemic as Werby was searching for holiday gifts for her friends on Etsy. Alas, the perfect gift was not in sight, but she found out about fandom candles during her hunt, and she really wanted a Zagreus candle. So she ordered a candle-making kit for herself to make her own, and the rest was history.
Our lil candle factory is located in Massachusetts and is mostly a one-woman-show, but this shop would not succeed without the ideas and support of Werby's husband and enthusiastic friends who suggest great ideas for scents and names, help test candles, and introduce her to some of the wonderful games and anime these candles are inspired by. You may also see some of them helping her out at markets and conventions! As our shop grows, we have also gotten some wonderful ideas from our followers and customers, and we are so grateful to be a part of such a lovely community of gamers, anime fans, and candle lovers!
Our logo is designed by an extremely talented friend and is inspired by Mayu, our furry supervisor.
Our candles are made of 100% natural soy wax, hand-poured in small batches. Soy wax candles are an environmentally friendly alternative to the classic paraffin wax used in commercial candles and are cleaner to burn as well, making them safer for people and pets.
